List of Journal Publication Software: Open Access Software:

1. Ambra: Ambra is an innovative Open Source platform for publishing Open Access research articles. It provides features for post-publication annotation and discussion that allows for a "living" document around which further scientific discoveries can be made. The platform is in active development by the PLOS (Public Library of Science) and is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0.
2. Annotum: Annotum is an open-source, open science authoring and publishing platform for scholarly content. It is being implemented as a WordPress theme by Solvitor, Crowd Favorite, and Google. In some ways, it similar to PLoS ONE. On November 22, 2011, Google announced that Knol is phasing out in favor of Annotum by May 2012.
3.CLEO: Cléo is the structure that develops portal OpenEdition, a set of electronic resources platforms in social sciences: OpenEdition Books (book collections), Revues.org (magazines), assumptions (research notebooks), Calenda (event announcements).
4.DiVA : DiVA portal is a finding tool and an institutional repository for research publications and student theses written at 40 universities and research institutions.
5.DPubS: DPubS (Digital Publishing System) is an open-source software system designed to enable the organization, presentation, and delivery of scholarly journals, monographs, conference proceedings, and other common and evolving means of academic discourse. DPubS was conceived by Cornell University Library to aid colleges and universities in managing and disseminating the intellectual discoveries and writing of scholars and researchers.
6.E-Journal: eJournalPress specializes in providing customizable software to scientific, technical, medical, and engineering publications. Our primary products include EJPress, an online manuscript submission and peer review system, and JPS, an online journal production tracking system. Both systems easily accommodate complex workflows and together provide a comprehensive solution from the beginning of the editorial process to the conclusion of the production process.
7.ePublishing Toolkit: The Library Publishing Toolkit looks at the broad and varied landscape of library publishing through discussions, case studies, and shared resources. From supporting writers and authors in the public library setting to hosting open access journals and books, this collection examines opportunities for libraries to leverage their position and resources to create and provide access to content.
10.Lodel: Lodel is a Content Management System (CMS), specially created to handle long and complex texts as part of a highly structured editorial environment.
11.OpenACS: OpenACS is a toolkit for building scalable, community-oriented web applications. OpenACS is the foundation for many products and websites, including the .LRN (pronounced "dot learn") e-learning platform. OpenACS is open source and is available under the GNU General Public License.
12.Open Journal System: Open Journal Systems (OJS) is a journal management and publishing system that has been developed by the Public Knowledge Project through its federally funded efforts to expand and improve access to research.
13.PeerLibrary: PeerLibrary provide a collaborative layer of knowledge on top of academic publications. See and share real-time highlights and annotations with the world, a group you're working with, or keep them private.
14. SOPS: SciX Open Publishing Services (SOPS) is software that allows setting up various on-line scientific publishing media such as: personal archives, institutional archives, topic & society archives, electronic journals, electronic conference proceedings, workflow support for the above.
15.Topaz: DigitalKoans provides news and commentary on digital copyright, digital curation, digital repositories, open access, research data management, scholarly communication, and other digital information issues. Over 7,900 posts and 11,700 tweets. Available via e-mail, RSS feed, and Twitter.
